There have been many reincarnations of this famous chair which originally appeared as a much smaller chair known as the Tripolina in the 1920’s and there is a famous image of Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and the then American president Warren Harding sat on early version of the Tripolina. Many companies have produced versions of this chair however, it was Swedish entrepreneur Lars Kjerstadius who made a redesign some 20 years ago. He increased the size by 30% for better comfort and changed other details. The Swedish Butterfly is now established as the best quality and most comfortable version on the market.
